The Town of Scott held its June Town Board Meeting on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order. Tonya Gnewikow was sworn in as our new town board member to fill out the remainder of the term of David Potter.
Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the May Town Board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All town bills have been paid. Concrete work for new steps at the Town Hall has been completed. Seal coating by Fahrner Construction will be done this coming week. Another state highway aids payment will be coming in July. Supervisor Kade Gnewikow moved and Supervisor Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
A discussion was held on changing the town board meeting date. It was decided to change the town board meeting date to the second Wednesday of each month at 5 PM. The change will take effect for the September town board meeting.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Patching of roads and some mowing has started. The rest of town roads will be mowed in the coming week. County Board Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen will notify the County Highway Department of the road signs missing on Crescent and CTH EW and on Copper Road and CTH EW. A discussion was held on Agricultural Road Improvement Program. We should be hearing soon if the township was awarded a grant for Copper Road. Chairman Henry Van Wychen has been talking to Town of Byron Chairman Al Bernhardt to see if the Town of Byron will take over maintenance of Drake Road on the south end the township.
New railings on the town hall’s new steps will be placed by the Aug. 13 Primary Election. Tonya Gnewikow moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded motion to adjourn the June Town Board meeting. Motion passed.

- July Town Board Meeting – Monday, July 15, at 5 PM, Scott Town Hall.
- Primary Election – Tuesday, Aug. 13, 7 AM to 8 PM, Scott Town Hall.
- August Town Board Meeting – Monday, Aug. 19, 5 PM, Scott Town Hall.
- September Town Board Meeting – Wednesday, Sept. 11, 5 PM, Scott Town Hall. (NOTE: The town board does not meet in October.)
- General Election – Tuesday, Nov. 5, 7 AM to 8 PM, Scott Town Hall.
