The Town of Scott held its November board meeting on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Mary Shepherd and Nodji Van Wychen.
Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. Clerk Jim Van Wychen read minutes of last board meeting, held Sept. 21, 2020. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. We have received the last state highway aids payment for 2020. Our last shared revenue payment will come the end of November. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
For town road report, Chuck reported that the hole on the bridge on Buckley Avenue had been patched with 19 bags of Sakrete concrete. The town board looked at Crescent Road. There are some potholes that need more gravel and grading. It was decided to have Mike Strohmeyer grade Crescent Road and wait until next spring to add more gravel.
Snow plowing was discussed. The board will talk with Larry Johnson and ask him not to use his plow wing on some of the town roads. Also, Larry will be asked to contact the town board about whether to plow after a snowfall. Monroe County does not plow unless there is more than 2 inches of snow.
A discussion was held on town board salaries for the coming biennium. Compared to other townships in the 70th state assembly district, we are about average on salaries. It was decided to keep the town board salaries the same for the next two years. Town pays $15 per hour for mowing and town road work.
The next meeting is set for Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at 5 p.m., at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn meeting.
Jim Van Wychen, Town Clerk
