The Town of Scott held its June board meeting on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 5 PM at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen, Charles Brunner and William Brunner.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of May 2021 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All bills paid to date except for the Scott Construction invoice for the seal coating on Copper Road. We will pay a portion of the bill now and the balance after receiving our next state highway aids payment. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.
The Township applied for the American Rescue Plan Act Recovery Funds and we will receive $14,444.26 through the ARPA Local Fiscal Recovery Funds Request program. Rules are not written yet as to what will qualify for its use. We have up to three years to use the funds.
For the Road Report, it was reported that the two-mile section of Copper Road has been seal coated. A discussion was held on the township’s tractor used to mow town roads. It broke down and is being fixed by Hillsboro Equipment. The town is using a tractor on loan from Hillsboro equipment while ours is being repaired. After our tractor is repaired the town board will review whether or not to replace our current tractor. The town has the option of hiring Monroe County Highway Department to mow town roads. The cost would be $90.00 to $100.00 per hour to mow roads.
The 2021 Board of Review is tentatively set for late August 2021. As soon as we know the dates for Open Book and Board of Review, the dates will be posted.
The next Town Board meeting is set for Monday, July 12, 2021, at 5 PM at the Scott Town Hall. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn and pay town bills. Motion passed.
