The Town of Scott held its August board meeting on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.  All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.

Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the July board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report.  We have one more state highway aids and state shared revenue payment to come in as 2022 revenue. Supervisor David Potter moved and Supervisor Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Some road patching and tree removal was done. We are still waiting for Farhners to do seal coating on Copper Road. Chuck has mowed town roads and sprayed weeds on shoulders of some gravel roads. The township’s gravel roads will be graded this fall.

The former Bob Meir’s property is being cleaned up by the new owner. Since he has started removing the burned trailer house and junked cars, it was decided the township would give him more time to get the property cleaned up.

For public input a discussion was held on the 2020 census figures for the Town of Scott.  Tentatively we have a population of 104. The previous population figures from 2010 was 133.

The August 9 primary election had 19 voters. The town has 53 registered voters.  The next election is the fall general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.

The next board meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.

Henry Van Wychen moved and David Potter seconded motion to adjourn the August board meeting. Motion passed.
