The Town of Scott Board met on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.
All board members present along with Larry Johnson, Mary Shepherd and Nodji Van Wychen.
Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of August 2023 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All bills are paid to date with one more state highway aid payment coming in October and the balance of shared revenue due in November. Supervisor David Potter moved and Supervisor Kade Gnewikow seconded motion to accept town treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Town road maintenance is up to date. A discussion was held on replacing the speed limit sign on Crescent Road in Norway Ridge. It was agreed to order a new 30 mph speed limit sign.
The town emergency plan discussion was postponed to a later date.
The town ambulance contract with Tomah Area Ambulance Association was discussed. The rate for 2024 is $20.00 per capita. The town has 101 residents according to the last census.
Gardiner Appraisal Service is retiring. Clerk will check to see who is taking over and who our new assessor will be. We will also see if we can get a plat of the Norway Ridge area.
Next meeting is set for Monday, Nov. 13, 2023. This is one week earlier than usual because the town board wants to also get the annual town budget done at this meeting.
