The Town of Scott held its November board meeting on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at 5 p.m., at the Scott Town Hall, 28788 Buckley Avenue. All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.

Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the September board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. The last state highway aid payment and balance of shared revenue have been received. The town is planning on spending some more money on town roads yet this year. The town board will review roads and see what can be done. Supervisor Kade Gnewikow moved and Supervisor David Potter seconded a motion to accept to accept the treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Town Patrolman Larry Johnson indicated we need more gravel on the gravel portion of Copper Road north of county Highway EW and also on Drake Avenue.

The town board is continuing discussions with the Town of Byron in regards to Byron taking over the Town of Scott’s portion of Drake Avenue.

Henry Van Wychen is consulting with Gabe’s Tree Service to see what it would cost to clean trees along the west side of Copper Avenue from state Highway 173 to Buckley Avenue.

Yield sign on Copper Road and Curtis Stahl Road is being purchased to replace vandalized sign.

Brian Beck contacted the town chairman about widening Buckley Avenue on the south side from bridge west to County N. Town board will meet with Brian.

The Town Clerk did not find any more information on town emergency plans. Will postpone until a sample emergency plan is reviewed.

For public input Nodji Van Wychen said the county has new plat books available.

The following town residents have agreed to work as election officials for the coming year: Paul Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen, Jamie Potter, Kade Gnewikow and Trey Gnewikow.

The next town board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at 5 p.m., at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens.

David Potter moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to adjourn the November board meeting. Motion passed.
