The Town of Scott held its September board meeting on Monday, Sept., 19, 2016, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Larry Johnson, Jim Brown, Lorry Erickson, Jack Potter, Mary Shepherd and Nodji Van Wychen. Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of August, 2016 board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the Treasurer’s Report. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve Treasurer’s Report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Drake Avenue still needs some more work. The sand fill that has been hauled along Copper Road needs to have humps leveled down. The junction of County EW and Copper Road needs to have the corners widened out more. Will talk to County Highway Commissioner Jack Dittmar before the black topping is started on County EW. Also gravel needs to be added to the shoulder of Copper Road over hill before cranberry season starts. The wedging has been redone on Augusta Road by Scott Construction.
The Monroe County unit of Wisconsin Towns Association is having a meeting on the condition of the roads in the towns, county and state at Club 16 in Sparta on Sept. 29, 2016.
A discussion was held on the Monte Gebhardt property in Norway Ridge.
The next town meeting and budget meeting will be held on the November 14 or 21. Date to be determined later.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn September board meeting. Motion passed.
