The Town of Scott held its December board meeting on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at 6PM at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen. All board members present along with Larry Johnson, Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson and Nodji Van Wychen.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the November board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the Treasurer’s Report. Some road expenses will be delayed until 2017 to be paid. This will help even out our road expenses for state reporting purposes. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept town financial report and file for audit.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Snowplowing has begun. Fill along Copper Road is about 75 percent done. Starting Jan. 1, 2017, the township will plow snow on County Hwy EE. We will be reimbursed by Monroe County.
A discussion was held on wages paid to town officials. It has been over 6 years since wages have been changed. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to raise town wages for elected officials by 10 percent. Per diem for meetings will be $70 and election worker wages will be $200 per election. The increase in wages and per diems will take effect for newly elected town officials in April 2017. Motion passed.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to approve fire contract with the Town of Lincoln Fire Department for 2017. Motion passed.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve a 3-year contract with Gardner Appraisal Service. Motion passed.
A discussion was held on the Monte Gebhardt property. Jim will check to see if Adam Pillard from General Engineering Company has done an assessment on the property.
Nodji Van Wychen gave an update on County Hwy EW improvement.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to contract with Erickson Productions to do our town website.
The next meeting is set for Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at 4PM at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens.
