The Town of Scott held its February board meeting on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at 6 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen, Larry Johnson and Mary Shepherd.
Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the January board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the treasurers report. All tax collections have been turned over to the County and school districts. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the road report. Road weight limit signs were posted today, Feb. 20. Trees on Drake Avenue need to be taken out of the right of way. Larry will clear them out. Also a portion of Drake Avenue will need to be ground up and resurfaced. The speed limit sign on Crescent Road by County EW is not very noticeable. Have to do something about the reflectivity. Our sand and salt supply is getting low. Hope we can make it through the rest of the winter.
For public input the July 3 fireworks put on by the Town of Lincoln Fire Department was discussed. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to spend the same as last year, $150.00 for the fireworks. Motion passed. The deck boards on the town hall entrance ramp need to be painted this summer. Nodji Van Wychen mentioned the County Board will vote on a new County Highway Commissioner at their Thursday meeting. Chuck Huffman reported on Wisconsin Towns Association-Monroe County Unit meeting he attended. The discussion was on the drug problem in the county and how to address it.
The General Election will be held Tuesday April 4, 2017, from 7 AM to 8 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.
The next town board meeting will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017m at 6PM at the Scott Town Hall. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn February board meeting. Motion passed.
