The Town of Scott held its June board meeting Monday, June 18, 2018, at 5:30 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and had Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of May town board meeting. Minutes approved. Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All bills paid to date. Scott Construction has not done contract work on Copper Road yet. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
The town chairman and supervisors toured the town roads since the last meeting. The Drake Avenue repair seems to be holding up good. Scott Construction is planning on getting Copper Road done before harvest. The County Highway EW project is still on schedule to get done this summer. Concern was expressed that work be done by Cranfest and also if could be done by the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association Summer Field Day on Aug. 8 at Russell Rezin Cranberry Marsh.
A discussion was held on the Jim Frei property. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to have Jim Frei have buildings razed and removed by July 3, 2018, and if not done by then Mr. Frei will be billed for the costs to remove structures. Motion passed. Larry Johnson will give a bid for the cost of removing buildings. A discussion was also held on other structures in the township that need to be improved or razed.
Clerk will check on getting price for painting handicap ramp and chinking of bricks that need it on Town Hall.
The next Town Board Meeting will be Monday, July 16, 2018, at 5:30 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.
The August Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, from 7 AM to 8 PM at the Scott Town Hall. See Primary Election Notice for offices and candidates on ballot.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn June board meeting. Motion passed.
