The Town of Scott held its December board meeting on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at 5:30 PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road. All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the November board meeting and 2019 Budget meeting. Both minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All income for the town is in. The town will have exceeded 115 percent of its 2018 State Highway Aids by paying this month’s snowplowing bill. A Johnson & Sons Excavation & Trucking bill of $2,955 and Scott Construction bill of $24,938 will be carried over to 2019. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded motion to approve Treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
For town road report Chuck and Larry explained that state Highway 173 from Highway 21 to the Wood county line will be repaved in 2020. It will be 24 feet wide with additional 5-foot shoulders. Estimated cost is $5 million.
Chuck attended the Wisconsin Towns Association County meeting at the Town of Little Falls. Newly elected state officials were there.
The next town meeting is set for Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at 5:30PM, at the town clerk’s home. Following the town meeting will be the town caucus for nomination of positions on the town board for the April 2019 to March 2021 terms.
Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded motion to adjourn town board meeting. Motion passed.
