The Town of Scott held its monthly board meeting on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at 5:30 PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd and Larry Johnson.

Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the December board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. About two thirds of the real estate taxes have been collected. The first payment of state highway aids was $15,737.53. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Supervisor Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Larry Johnson gave the town road report. In the spring, we will  need to work on shoulder of Copper Road that was damaged last fall. Larry plans to clear trees along Drake Avenue.

Monroe County Economic Summit will be held Feb. 27-28 at Three Bears Resort. Any town board member interested in going has to sign up individually.

The Monroe County Solid Waste Department will sponsor a dinner to explain their new funding mechanism for the county recycling program at noon, March 10, at the Sparta American Legion.

There is no Primary Election in the Town of Scott in February. The Spring General Election will be Tuesday, April 2.

Wisconsin Towns Association regional meeting will be held March 16, 2019 at Three Bears Resort.

The next board meeting will be Monday, Feb. 25, at 5:30 PM, at the town clerk’s home.

Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded motion to adjourn meeting.  Motion passed.
