The Town of Scott held its 2019 Annual Town meeting on Tuesday, April 23, at 5:30 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. The following town residents were present: Chuck Huffman, Dan Draeger, Henry Van Wychen, Paul Shepherd, Jim Van Wychen, Nodji Van Wychen and Mary Shepherd. Also present at the meeting were Larry Johnson, Jack Potter and Lorry Erickson.
Oath of offices for re-elected town officers were administered: Chairman – Chuck Huffman, Supervisors – Dan Draeger and Henry Van Wychen, Treasurer – Paul Shepherd and Clerk – Jim Van Wychen.
Minutes of 2018 Annual Town meeting were read and approved. A discussion of 2018 town financial position was held. Town has invested enough into our road system to get our maximum state highway aids for 2019.
Nodji Van Wychen moved and Mary Shepherd seconded a motion to approve Timberwood Bank as the depository for the township. Motion passed.
A review of the road work done in 2018 was reviewed. Copper Road had paving done where drainage tubes were replaced. Area widened out on Copper Road also had a single seal coat applied. Drake Avenue was ground up and returned to a gravel road from seal coated road. We are planning on spending enough on town roads to qualify for maximum state highway aids. Mary Shepherd moved and Nodji Van Wychen seconded motion to authorize Town Board to do whatever road work they deem necessary for the town roads. Motion passed.
Dan Draeger moved and Paul Shepherd seconded a motion to approve liquor license for Van Wychen Wines Inc. Motion passed.
Nodji Van Wychen gave a Pine Grove Cemetery report. Nodji Van Wychen moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to give $500 to Pine Grove Cemetery for upkeep at cemetery and up to three loads of gravel for road maintenance in cemetery. Motion passed.
The 2020 Town of Scott Annual Town Meeting is set for Monday, April 20, 2020, at 5:30 PM at the Scott Town Hall.
Nodji Van Wychen moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn the 2019 Town of Scott Annual Town Meeting. Motion passed.
