The Town of Scott held its August board meeting on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at 5PM at the Scott Town Hall.  All board members present along with Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd, Larry Johnson, Jack Potter and Dane Pasch.

Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the July 2019 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Larry Johnson gave the town road report. He has been doing some patching on town roads and mowed around the town hall.  Road grading from this spring is holding up well and looks like we only need one more grading by this fall. Chuck has mowed the town roads. The town plans on doing a double seal on Copper Road on the east side of the road. Chuck will contact Scott Construction to schedule the seal coating.

A town resident addressed the board about a noise nuisance situation. After a discussion the board agreed to go talk to the party involved. If that does not work the board will use the citations available in our town ordinances.

Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. Most of the town income is in for the year. We have one more highway aids payment and our state shared revenue payment.  Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.

The Wisconsin Towns Association county unit meeting was discussed. It was mentioned that our highway aids payments for 2020 should be up to $3,025 per mile.  Also discussed at meeting were invasive species in our area, health and sanitation issues, and possible changes in our county landfill fees.

Oct. 5, 2019, is the fall Monroe County Clean Sweep Day.

The next town board meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at 5PM at the Town of Scott Town hall

Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded motion to adjourn town meeting and pay town bills.  Motion passed.
