The Town of Scott held its September board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at 5PM at the Scott Town Hall. All board member present along with Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd, Lorry Erickson and Jack Potter.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of August board meeting. Minutes approved with the date of Monroe County Clean Sweep program date changed to Oct. 5, 2019.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. Most of the income for the township is in for the year. Income left to come in yet is a state highway aid payment in October and our State Shared Revenue Payment in November. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson was not available to give his monthly road report. He has been doing some road patching. Chuck Huffman, Dan Draeger and Henry Van Wychen put two loads cold mix on Copper Road where the seal coating was breaking up. The two-mile stretch of Copper Road will have an eight-foot double seal done this week depending on weather. A discussion was held on brushing on Copper Road.
For public input the Monroe County Clean Sweep program was discussed. It is set for Saturday, Oct. 5. Lorry Erickson will try to get current flyer and post it on our website. Also a discussion on widening Copper Road from County EW to Buckley Road was discussed. Jim Van Wychen will attend meeting in Sparta on the Local Road Improvement Program to see what funds are available for help from the county.
The next town board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. The town’s 2020 budget meeting will follow at 5:30 PM.
Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn September town board meeting and pay current town bills. Motion passed.
