The Town of Scott April 2024 town board meeting was called to order by Chairman Henry Van Wychen on Monday, April 22, at 5:45 PM, at the Scott Scott Hall, 28788 Buckley Avenue. Town residents present were Henry Van Wychen, Kade Gnewikow, Paul Shepherd, Mary Shepherd and Jim Van Wychen. Nonresidents present: Jack Potter and Larry Johnson.
Town Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order. Minutes of the March 2024 board meeting were not present and dispensed without reading at the meeting.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All bills are paid to date. We received the second state highway aids payment. The current balance in the township’s checkbook is $49,101.03. We have not received the bill for our 2024 Town Fire contract. Larry Johnson said the fire contracts should be coming out soon to all the townships covered by the Town of Lincoln Fire District. Billing is now being done by the Fire District rather than the Town of Lincoln. Henry Van Wychen moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
David Potter asked to resign from the Town of Scott for personal reasons. Kade Gnewikow moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept David’s resignation. Motion approved. Clerk will post a notice in the town minutes of the town board supervisor vacancy and request any town residents who are interested in filling the position to contact him.
Town board reviewed a letter from Meadow Valley Wildlife Area officials concerning the right-of-way maintenance on Copper Road. The board will follow their recommendations and conditions concerning the right-of-way maintenance. The town board will review the town roads to see what roads need maintenance to be scheduled this year.
Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen was named to replace David Potter as our township’s representative on the Town of Lincoln Fire District Board.
