The Town of Scott held its April Board meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 6 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with town residents Mary Shepherd and Mike Nofsinger.
Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of March 2025 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All current town bills are paid. The annual financial report for township (Form CT) will be filed May 1, 2025. It will be available for review at the May town board meeting. Supervisor Kade Gnewikow moved and Supervisor Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to approve April financial report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the April town road report before the start of the 2025 annual meeting and is reported at this April board meeting. Snow plowing is done and trees that were in the road right-of- way caused by winter storms have been removed. He plans to patch roads and grade gravel roads. A discussion was held on using a growth retardant spray on our town roads so we would only have to mow grass once a year. Henry Van Wychen will look into price of material. We will have to decide before grass starts growing if we are going to use it.
Mike Nofsinger, a resident of Norway Ridge, reported he will be cleaning up an old house that was burned down this winter as a fire department training.
The May town board meeting is set for Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall, 28788 Buckley Avenue. At that meeting bids will be opened for the Agricultural Road Improvement Program (ARIP) project on Copper Road.
Kade Gnewikow moved and Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to adjourn the April town board meeting. Motion passed.
Jim Van Wychen, Clerk, Town of Scott
