The Town of Scott held its August board meeting on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. at the Scott Town Hall. All board members were present, along with Nodji Van Wychen, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd and Larry Johnson.
Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the July 2017 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Holes on Copper Road where tubes were replaced have been patched in with black top. Larry is working with Mike Strohmeyer to put gravel on east side of Copper Road that we are widening out. Trees on Drake Avenue still need to be widened out. County Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen reported that snowmobile and ATV signs marking trails can no longer be put on county road signs and have to be put on separate signs.
The Monte Gebhardt property was discussed. Town needs to get nuisance ordinance filed on his property in Norway Ridge.
Election schedule for 2018 was discussed. A copy of the election dates will be posted on town website.
Chuck explained what was discussed at the Monroe County Towns Association meeting. The Emergency Government Coordinator for Monroe County presented a program.
The next town board meeting is set for Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at 6 PM at the Scott Town Hall. The November town board meeting and 2018 budget meeting dates were also set for Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. There will be not be a town meeting in October.
Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn meeting. Motion passed.
