The Town of Scott held its December board meeting on Monday, Dec. 19, at 5PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens. Present were town board members Charles Huffman, David Potter, Henry Van Wychen and Jim Van Wychen, along with Jack Potter, Kade Gnewikow, Larry Johnson and Nodji Van Wychen.
Chairman Charles Huffman called the meeting to order. Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the November board meeting and the 2023 Town Budget meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Treasurer Paul Shepherd was not able to attend the board meeting. He indicated that all Shared Revenue from the State was received. The $30,000 borrowed from the Money Market account will be transferred from the checking account back to the Money Market before the end of the year. Supervisor David Potter moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Still need left turn, right turn and S-curve signs. Clerk will get them ordered. Town fire number signs cost the town $18.00 each. Larry Johnson will provide post and install them for $50.00 per sign.
David Potter gave a report on the Monroe County Unit of the Wisconsin Towns Association’s November meeting. He explained about the Monroe County landfill situation. He also reported on the District WTA meeting to be held in Tomah. One board member will have to be certified for 2023 Board of Review. The next County Unit WTA meeting is Feb. 16.
The next town board meeting will be Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at 5PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and David Potter seconded a motion to adjourn and pay town bills. Motion passed.
