The Town of Scott held its December board meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at 5 PM at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Henry Van Wychen, Kade Gnewikow, Tonya Gnewikow, Paul Shepherd, Mary Shepherd, Jim Van Wychen, Larry Johnson and Jack Potter.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Henry Van Wychen. Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the November 2024 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the financial report. The town received our shared revenue payment of $42,489.02. After paying current town bills, the town has a checkbook balance of $71,706.30. Kade Gnewikow moved and Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to approve November financial report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. He hauled five loads of gravel and graded Crescent Road. He also sanded the roads three times so far this fall.
The Agricultural Road Improvement Program grant was discussed. Svet Roussev, the project engineer, will be at our February 2025 board meeting and review the project bid to be released after that.
The town received the bridge inspection report for the bridge on Buckley Avenue. It was reviewed and changes needed will be addressed next spring after frost is out.
2025 is the two-year election cycle for town officers. The town uses the caucus procedure for nominating town officials. The 2025 town caucus will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 5:30 PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens.
For public input, County Board Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen shared a picture of the new logo that will be on all the Monroe County highway vehicles. The new logo will be on the trucks after the first of the year.
The next town board meeting will be on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at 5 PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens.
Tonya Gnewikow moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to adjourn the December board meeting. Motion passed.
