The Town of Scott held its February board meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at 5 p.m., at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen. Present were Chuck Huffman, Henry Van Wychen, Jim Van Wychen, David Potter, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order. A letter of resignation from Supervisor Dane Pasch was read. He is moving from the township and therefore would not be able to be on the town board. Chuck Huffman moved and Supervisor Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept Dane Pasch’s resignation and appoint David Potter to fill his unexpired term. Motion passed. David Potter was sworn in as the new town supervisor.
Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the January 2022 town board meeting. Minutes were approved as read.
Treasurer Paul Shepherd was not able to attend the meeting, so the clerk read the treasurer’s report provided by the treasurer. The following bills were reviewed and approved for payment: Tomah Area Ambulance Service, Town of Lincoln Fire Department dues, Summit Fire Inspections services, Monroe County Clerk for balance of Image Cast Evolution (ICE) voting machine, and Johnson and Sons for snowplowing. Henry Van Wychen moved and David Potter seconded a motion to approve 2022 fire contract with the Town of Lincoln Fire Department. Motion passed. David Potter moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the road report. He has been sanding and snowplowing as needed. This spring he will plan on completing the widening on Copper Road from Brunswick Avenue to County Highway EW.
For public input, County Board Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen reported that the spring road bands for the county roads may be going on sometime the second week of March. Also, the county has not started putting up the new town road signs. She also talked about the truckers convey that will be going through the county on March 4. The clean sweep program for the county will be held on Saturday, April 30. Go to county landfill website to see what they will be accepting.
A building permit for Dustin Deford was discussed. Clerk will ask him to provide photo or diagram of improvements he plans to construct on his property.

- March 22, 2022 – Town board meeting at the town clerk’s home
- April 5, 2022 – Spring General Election
- April 18, 2022 – Town of Scott annual town meeting and Town Board monthly meeting
Henry Van Wychen moved and David Potter seconded motion to adjourn February town board meeting and pay town bills. Motion passed.
