The Town of Scott held its January board meeting on Monday January 15, 2018, at 5 p.m., at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen and Willie Johnson.
Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the December 2017 board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the town treasurer’s report. Town property tax collections are coming in. December tax collections have been settled. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion for the township to join the Warrens Area Business Association for 2018. Motion passed. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to approve the fire contract with the Town of Lincoln Fire Department. Motion passed.
Willie Johnson gave the town road report. Snowplowing and sanding is going good. It was also brought up that Mike Strohmeyer needs a bill sent to him for grader blade and bolts that he got from the Monroe County Highway Department that the Town paid for with the gravel that we purchased from the county.
The Wisconsin Towns Association Monroe County Unit Meeting is Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at the Tomah American Legion. The Monroe County Economic Development Conference is Feb. 21-22 at Three Bears Resort in Warrens. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion that Town Board members who wish to attend the conference register on line. Motion passed. The raze order on the Jim Frei property was discussed. Clerk was directed to send certified letter to Mr. Frei to have him act on removing building.
The next town board meeting is set for Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at 5 p.m., at the home of Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens.
The primary election is set for Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Scott Hall Town Hall. State ballot is for Justice of the Supreme Court for Wisconsin.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn January town board meeting. Motion passed.
