The Town of Scott held its July board meeting on Monday, July 22, 2019, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd and Larry Johnson.

Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the June board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. For the balance of the year the town has one more state highway aids payment and the state shared revenue payment. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Larry Johnson gave the road report. He has patched Copper Road where the seal coating done last year has broken up. He also has been cleaning up storm debris on town roads. Chuck has been mowing the town roads and Mike Strohmeyer has graded the town’s gravel roads. A discussion was held on what to do with Copper Road. Board will meet when we get quotes for seal coating to decide how much of Copper Road we will be able to do.

A discussion on bridge aids from Monroe County was discussed. The bridge on Buckley Avenue is the only township bridge with culvert of 36 inches or larger that would qualify for county bridge aid. It was decided to wait until bridge is required to be replaced.

Most of the older items stored in the town hall have been removed and Chuck has cleaned up the shop. Jack Potter got a quote from Jeff Nailer for approximately $7,000 to clean and repaint the town shop. After a discussion, it was decided to wait to see what the seal coating on Copper Road would cost to determine if the town budget would allow repairs to the shop this year.

The next town board meeting is set for Monday, August 26, 2019, at 5 PM, at Scott Town Hall.

Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn and pay bills.  Motion passed.
