The Town of Scott held its July board meeting on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Scott Town Hall, 28788 Buckley Avenue. All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the June 2023 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. We are in the process of updating the signature cards for the township’s bank accounts at BankFirst. We have one more state highway aid payment coming in October. Supervisor Kade Gnewikow moved and Supervisor David Potter seconded motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion approved.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. He has mowed the town roads and hauled gravel on Drake Road and Crescent Avenue. He still plans on hauling some recycled blacktop on to the Pine Grove Cemetery roads. Some culverts on Autumn Road going back to the Monroe County Flowage need to be replaced yet. The town chairman will contact logger who is damaging Copper Road. A discussion was held on Drake Avenue. Town chairman will contact Town of Byron chairman to see if they will take over the mile of Drake Avenue that borders with Town of Byron.
A discussion was held on clean up of the Norway Ridge area. Town has to check with Monroe County Sanitation and Meadow Valley Wildlife Area to see if properties are conforming to county and state standards.
The next Wisconsin Towns Association Monroe County Unit meeting is Aug. 17 in Wilton.
The next town meeting is Monday, August 21, 2023, at 5PM, at the Scott Town Hall.
Kade Gnewikow moved and David Potter seconded a motion to adjourn July town board meeting.
