The Town of Scott held its June 2017 board meeting on Monday June 19, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of May board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Town Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the Treasurer’s Report. Reviewed the amount spent on town roads so far this year and balance needed to be spent to receive our maximum state road aids. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Supervisor Dan Draeger seconded a motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
The amendment to our town building code relating to the age of mobile homes that can be brought into the town will take effect June 20, 2017. Mobile homes cannot be more the 10 years old from the date building permit is requested.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Trees downed by storms have been removed from roads. Drake Road has been patched. Larry will be working replacing tubes on Copper Road. We did receive approval from Monroe County Highway to pay for half the gravel we will purchase from them for Copper Road in 2017 and the balance in 2018. Monroe County Highway will not be reimbursing the town in the future for mowing or snowplowing county roads. We thanked Dan Draeger for grading roads in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to allow the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center to have any of their former display cases now in the town hall for their use. Motion passed.
The next town meeting is set for Monday July 17, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the Scott Town Hall.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn the June town board meeting. Motion passed.
