The Town of Scott held its June Town Board meeting on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Scott Town Hall.  All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen, Lorry Erickson, Jack Potter and Larry Johnson.

Town Chairman Chuck Huffman called the board meeting to order at 5 PM. Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the May town board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. We received our second payment of our American Rescue Plan Act funds and State Highway Aids payment. The ARPA fund payment will be put in our money market account to keep separate from the general fund. Supervisor David Potter moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Larry Johnson gave the road report. Patching and tree clearing was done. He will be working on installing new town road signs. Some additional patching needs to be done on Crescent Road south of state Highway 173.  The township’s mowing tractor was repaired for a hydraulic leak and all lights were repaired.

A discussion on Bob Meirs property was held. Fire damage has not been cleaned up and violates our town nuisance ordinance. Clerk will draft a letter to Mr. Meirs.

For public input Nodji Van Wychen indicated county lands on Buckley Avenue were bid out for timber contracts.

The next meeting will be July 11, 2022, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.

Primary election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 7 AM to 8 PM, at the Scott Town Hall.
