The Town of Scott held its March Town Board meeting on Monday, March 16, 2020, at 5PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen. Board members present were Dan Draeger, Henry Van Wychen, Paul Shepherd and Jim Van Wychen. Others present were: Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
In the absence of Town Chairman Chuck Huffman, Supervisor Dan Draeger called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the February board meeting. Minutes approved with one correction: because Monroe County required water tests in the township, the $10 fee per test was waived.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurers report. All current town bills have been paid. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to approve treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the road report. No snowplowing or sanding this past month. Once it warms up, Larry will patch potholes in town roads. Replacement road signs Chuck ordered have not come in yet. Chuck has talked to the Necedah Wildlife Refuge about moving a portion of Crescent Road to the Oakdale Electric right-of-way after the co-op removes the power line from that area. The DNR said will take approximately two years to get the permit process completed. The town will keep working on getting that project going.
The town board reviewed the new ATV/UTV ordinance. After it was read, Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to put the ATV/UTV ordinance on the agenda for annual town meeting on April 22, 2020. Motion passed.
For public input it was brought up that a camper was recently moved in and is was being used as a permanent residence on property along Crescent Road. The clerk will check with the county sanitarian to see if sanitation permits are being met. A discussion was held on the upcoming election and added steps we need to take regarding the COVID-19 virus. It was decided to order pens that each voter would use and keep.
The annual town meeting will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 5PM, at the Town Hall. The monthly town board meeting will follow the annual town meeting.
The Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, from 7AM to 8PM.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn town board meeting and pay town bills. Motion passed.
