The Town of Scott held its May board meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Scott Town Hall. Town board members Chuck Huffman, Dan Draeger, Henry Van Wychen, Jim Van Wychen and Paul Shepherd were all present, along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson. Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the April 2016 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report and Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen gave a summary of the 2015 town financial report. Funds spent on town roads in 2015 should increase the state highway aids for 2017. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Patching and shoulder work on town roads is done. A discussion was held regarding half-mile on Drake Avenue. We are planning widening out Crescent Road in Norway Ridge. The work on Copper Road is being delayed until the Karner Blue Butterfly survey is done. Bids were opened for seal coating portion of Auburn Road and 80 tons of cold mix on Augusta Road. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger to accept bid from Scott Construction to do seal coating on Auburn Road. Motion passed. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to purchase cold mix for Augusta Road from Scott Construction. Motion passed.
For public input Nodji Van Wychen had a discussion on how snowplowing is done at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
The next meeting is set for Monday June 20, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Scott Town Hall. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn May board meeting. Motion passed.
