The Town of Scott held its May board meeting on May 21, 2018. Board members present were Chuck Huffman, Dan Draeger, Henry Van Wychen and Jim Van Wychen. Others in attendance were Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen and town patrolman Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen. read the minutes of the April 2018 board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Jim also gave the treasurers report for Treasurer Paul Shepherd. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Tubes on Copper Road have been patched again. Chuck explained that Jim Brown regraded the gravel on the north end of Copper Road. Roads are getting narrower. We need to pull gravel from shoulders back onto road. Chuck will talk to Jim Brown and see what can be done. Drake Avenue has been ground up and converted from seal coated road back to a gravel road. A discussion was held on what can be done on Copper Road portion that was widened out. Larry Johnson gave some options. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to hire Scott Construction to fix road surface where the five culverts where replaced and to do shoulder work to match into existing road surface. Motion passed.
Jim Frei is in the process of razing the house and buildings on his property. Balance of County Highway EW is still on schedule to get resurfaced this summer.
Board of Review is scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2018, from 8am to 10am, at the Scott Town Hall.
The next board meeting is set for Monday June 18, 2018, at 5:30 PM at Scott Town Hall.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn the May town board meeting. Motion passed.
