The Town of Scott held it May board meeting on May 20, 2019, at 5 PM at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the April board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. This past month we received a quarterly transportation aid payment and our payment in lieu of taxes on federal government land. The clerk also reviewed a copy of our 2018 Form CT. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Tubes have been repaired or replaced on Autumn Road and Crescent Road. Trees and brush also cut on these roads. Supervisor Dan Draeger indicated a tube on Butler Road also needs to be replaced. It was decided to wait to grade roads until the wet spring ends.
For public input Nodji Van Wychen said the Pine Grove Cemetery Association had their annual meeting. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to pay for spray to control mosquitoes at the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the cemetery. Motion passed.
Chairman Chuck Huffman gave a report on the town officials workshop and Wisconsin Towns Association County Unit meeting he attended. An invasive species meeting will be held June 13 at Fort McCoy.
It was decided to clean up the Town Shop on June 11 at 9 AM.
A discussion on trying to get funding for gravel on roads that support Federal Government land was held. Clerk will check into the process.
Board of Review for 2019 assessment role is Friday, May 24, from 8 AM to 10 AM.
Next board meeting is set for Monday, June 17, at 5 PM at the Scott Town Hall.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn and pay bills for May town board meeting. Motion passed.
