The Scott Town Board met on Monday, May 18, 2020, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members were present along with Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the April 2020 town board meeting. Minutes were approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurers report. Currently all bills are paid with one check not cleared yet. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.
For the road report, Larry Johnson said he did some tree clearing this past month. He is also getting some patching materials from Mathy Construction. The town board did a review of town roads and are planning on doing some work on Autumn, Crescent, Drake, Buckley, Brunswick and Copper Roads. The chairman will get prices on seal coating and patching materials.
The town shop has been painted and the roof sealed.
Nodji Van Wychen gave a report from the Pine Grove Cemetery Association meeting. The officers for 2020 are: President – David Rezin, Vice President – Paul Shepherd, Secretary – Nodji Van Wychen and Jim Van Wychen, who is replacing Mary Bowen, who retired as treasurer. The trustees for 2020 are Jerry Bowen, Dan Draeger and Hazel Blado. Kade Gnewikow was appointed caretaker for 2020, replacing long-time caretakers Jerry and Mary Bowen.
For public input Nodji Van Wychen gave a report on state Highway 173. It will be closed to through traffic starting May 27 and remain closed until Labor Day. The section of Highway 173 in Monroe and Juneau County is being rebuilt.
The next town board meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 15, 2020, at 5 PM at the Scott Town Hall.
Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to adjourn and pay current town bills. Motion passed.
