The Town of Scott held its May Town Board Meeting on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall, 28788 Buckley Avenue. All board members present along with Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd, Kade Gnewikow and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Charles Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of April 2023 board meeting. Minutes approved a read. Paul Shepherd gave the treasurers report. The town received the April state highway aids payment of $18,010.22 and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources aid-in-lieu of taxes for $54,611.52. The $5,000.00 borrowed from the money market account was repaid. The 2022 annual form CT for the towns calendar year 2022 was reviewed. Supervisor David Potter moved and Supervisor Henry Van Wychen seconded motion to accept treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Larry has been clearing trees on road right-of-way and repairing town roads. He has also been working on the shoulders on Copper Road from Buckley Avenue to county Highway EW. Double seal coating will be done on that section of Copper Road the first of June. Larry will put up town address signs on Monroe County Flowage and Robert Pederson property.
A discussion was held on additional road work that needs to be done on town roads this summer. Road work to consider: gravel on Crescent Road, Drake Avenue and Copper Road north of County EW, old mix and seal coating on Augusta Road and recycled blacktop on cemetery roads. Brush trimming on Crescent Road and areas needed on other town roads.
