The Town of Scott held its November board meeting on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 5:30 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present (Supervisor Dan Draeger was 15 minutes late) along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the September board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. Final highway aids payment came in October, and our shared revenue and small community program payment will come in November. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Chuck Huffman seconded the motion to approve the treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the road report. Several spots on Copper Road where the road was widened are breaking up due to heavy traffic. Larry will patch the spots before we have to do snow plowing. Our road sand and salt mixture will prepared this month for the winter season. Larry indicated his snow plowing rate will remain the same for this coming winter season. He also reported that the Frei property was cleaned up as requested.
For public input, the Wisconsin Towns Association Unit Meeting will be held Nov. 15, 2018 at the Little Falls Town Hall. Lorry Erickson gave a report on our internet hosting fee. The 3-year contract will cost $323.64. Henry Van Wychen moved and Chuck Huffman seconded a motion to have Lorry sign a 3-year contract with the internet hosting site company.
Chuck explained about the invasive species assessment that was done in the township. Assessment indicated that we are doing a good job of controlling invasive species by the mowing we are doing.
The next town meeting was set for Monday, December 17, 2018, at 5:30 PM at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road.
Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded motion to adjourn and pay town bills. Motion passed.
