The Town of Scott held its September board meeting on Monday Sept. 21, 2020. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of August 2020 board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. The major outstanding bill is for the seal coating on Copper Road. After the balance of town’s revenue for 2020 comes in we will decide how much of the bill we can pay this year. Supervisor Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
For town road report, Larry Johnson explained some of the maintenance he did on the town roads. Larry also indicated the snow plowing rate should stay the same as last year at $90 per hour. Monroe County is upgrading all the town road signs over the next couple years. Signs will be larger than previous ones.
For public input County Board Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen indicated the Monroe County Board is taking $170,000 out of contingency funds to pay for the new town road signs. Also, state Highway 173 improvements are done.
The Fall General Election will be held at the town hall on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020.
There will be no board meeting in October. The next board meeting will be Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, at 5 PM. The annual 2021 budget meeting will be held following the monthly board meeting.
Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded the motion to adjourn the September board meeting and pay bills. Motion passed.
