The Town of Scott held its September board meeting on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with Jack Potter, Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen, Mary Shepherd and Larry Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of August 2022 board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Paul Shepherd gave the treasurers report.
The bill for seal coating of town roads is due Sept. 30. To cover that expense, money from the town’s Money Market account will have to be transferred. Funds will be replaced when rest of state highway aids and state municipal aids are received. Supervisor David Potter moved and Supervisor Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to transfer $25,000 dollars from our Money Market account to our checking account and also to approve the treasurers report and file for audit. Motion approved.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. He indicated that the price for road salt has gone up to $79 per ton. Larry will plan on grading gravel roads this fall.
We will not have an October board meeting. The next meeting will be our November board meeting and 2023 Budget meeting on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at 5 PM, at the town hall.
The fall general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, from 7 AM to 8 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. Trey Gnewikow, Paul Shepherd and Jamie Potter will be the election officials.
The former Bob Meir’s property is in the process of being cleaned up. The town will give the new owner some additional time to clean up the property.
Henry Van Wychen moved and David Potter seconded a motion to adjourn the September board meeting. Motion passed.
