The Town of Scott held its 2016 annual town meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 6 PM at the Scott Town Hall. Present were Town Board members Chuck Huffman, Dan Draeger, Henry Van Wychen, Jim Van Wychen and Paul Shepherd, along with Lorry Erickson, Jack Potter and Kathy Johnson.
Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen gave a summary of the 2015 annual meeting minutes. Jack Potter moved and Lorry Erickson seconded a motion to approve summary of 2015 annual meeting. Motion passed.
Treasurer Paul Shepherd and Jim Van Wychen gave the town financial report. Lorry Erickson moved and Jack Potter seconded a motion to accept town financial report. Motion passed.
Jack Potter moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to use Timberwood Bank as the Township’s depository. Motion passed.
A summary of road work completed in 2015 was given. Seal coating was done on 1.33 miles on Copper Road and .5 miles of wedge-and-seal coating on Augusta Road. A portion of Crescent Road will be widened out in 2016 and a 2-mile stretch of Copper Road is planned on being widened out. Also Drake Avenue needs some work. Jack Potter moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve town board to do road work deemed necessary in 2016. Motion passed.
Dan Draeger moved and Paul Shepherd seconded a motion to approve a liquor license for Van Wychen Wines, Inc. Motion passed.
Jim Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to purchase 3 loads of gravel and approve $500 toward upkeep of Pine Grove Cemetery in the Town of Scott. Motion Passed.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Jack Potter seconded a motion to donate $150 towards the Town of Lincoln Fire Department 4th of July fireworks fund. Motion passed.
The Town of Scott Open Book is set for Wednesday, May 25, 2016, and 2016 Board of Review is set for May 27, 2016. both from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Scott Town Hall.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Jack Potter seconded a motion to set the 2017 annual town meeting date on April 18, 2017, at 6PM at the Scott Town Hall. Motion passed.
Jack Potter moved and Lorry Erickson seconded a motion to adjourn the 2016 Town of Scott annual meeting. Motion passed.
