The Town of Scott, Monroe County held its August town board meeting on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 5PM at the Town of Scott Hall, 28788 Buckley Ave. All board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson. Henry Van Wychen, chairman called the meeting to order and Jim Van Wychen, clerk read the minutes of the July town board meeting. Minutes approved with the following name corrections, Mary Voltz should be Mary Shepherd and Tim Voltz should be Tim Hancock.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurers report. The town has $137,080.51 in checking and $159,332.74 money market account. Town agreed to do a $250,000.00 CD for 6 months of ARIP reimbursements for the paving of the first half of Copper Road project are being submitted. Supervisor, Kade Gnewikow moved and supervisor Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to approve treasurers report and file for audit. Motion approved.
Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Road patching has been done. He will do sign repair and replacement this month. Tree removal on August will also be done and town roads will be mowed one more time this season.
For the primary election held August 11, 2026 we had 21 voters. The next general election will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2026. On Thursday November 19, 2026 our town will host the Monroe County Unit of the Wis. Towns Assoc.
The next town board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday September 16, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Town of Scott Hall, 28788 Buckley Ave. Tonya Gnewikow moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded motion to adjourn the August town board meeting. Motion passed.
