The Town of Scott, Monroe County, WI. held its July board meeting on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 5:30 PM at the Town of Scott Hall, 28788 Buckley Ave. Board members present: chairman, Henry Van Wychen, Supervisors, Kade Gnewikow and Tonya Gnewikow, Treasurer, Paul Sheperd and Clerk, Jim Van Wychen. Others present: Nodji Van Wychen, County Board Supervisor, Mary Voltz, Larry Johnson, Tim Voltz and Michael & Petria Bahr.
Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the June board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Meeting attendees Tim Voltz and Michael & Petria Bahr questioned if the transfer of 4.58 Acres of land from Tim Voltz to Michael and Petria Bahr would qualify for large enough parcel to be able to qualify for a building permit in the Town of Scott. Henry Van Wychen moved and Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to allow Michael and Petria Bahr to construct a home on 4.58 Acre parcel. Once the two parties have their sanitation permits the town can grant them their building permits. Motion passed.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. The town has $139,620.86 in checking account and $159,332.74 in the money market account. Some of funds will be combined from each account to purchase a 6-month CD. Henry Van Wychen moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to purchase a $250,000 CD and approve the July town financial report and file for audit. Motion passed. Larry Johnson gave the town road report. All the town roads have been mowed once and gravel on various roads. Some trees on Augusta Avenue will be removed in the next month. The seam that is left from the paving on the 2-mile stretch of Copper Ave. will be discussed with our project engineer, Svet Rousevv.
Primary election will be held August 11,2026 from 7AM to 8PM at the Town of Scott Hall, 28788 Buckley Ave. Absentee balloting will be starting shortly.
The next board meeting will be on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 5 PM at the Town of Scott Hall. Kade Gnewikow moved and Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to adjourn the July Town of Scott Board meeting. Motion passed.
