The Town of Scott held its January board meeting on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 5PM at the Town Clerk’s home, Jim VanWychen, 3365 Auger Road, WI. All town board members present along with Mary Shepherd, Nodji VanWychen and Larry Johnson. Chairman, Henry VanWychen called the meeting to order at 5 PM. Clerk, Jim VanWychen read the minutes of the December, 2025 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Paul Shepherd, Treasurer gave the treasurers report. Real estate tax collections are in progress. The first phase of tax collections has been forwarded to the county, school district and Western Technical school. Balance on hand on checking is $85,042.62. This is before January expenses are paid. Kade Gnewikow, supervisor moved and Tonya Gnewikow, supervisor seconded a motion to accept approve treasurers report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Larry Johnson gave a report on the town roads. Snow removal and sanding were done on town roads. The cost per hour for snow removal will increase from $105.00 per hour to $110.00 per hour starting January 13, 2026. Larry will check on town signs that need repair or replacement. In February the town will start the bid procedure for phase 2 of ARIP (Agricultural Road Improvement Program). Phase 2 would be the section of Copper Road from junction with Buckley Avenue to St. Hwy 173. The town received the report from the 6ftX20ft span culvert inspection program. Clerk will check with Dan Hornack to see if he is able to finish removing trees in the right of way on Copper road.

For public input Nodji VanWychen indicated that the Town of Scott now qualifies for Agricultural Enterprise Zone. This program is now available to qualifying property in the Town of Scott. Monroe County Land Fill should be receiving reimbursement for expenses incurred with the Afghan resettlement that happened at Fort McCoy.

There will not be any Spring Primary election in the town. The Spring General Election will take place Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following election workers have been certified; Nodji VanWychen, Jamie Potter, Trey Gnewikow, Kade Gnewikow and Trey Gnewikow and Jim VanWychen.

The February town meeting is scheduled for Wednesday February 11, 2026 at 5PM at the town clerks home Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Rd. Warrens. Kade G. moved and Tonya G. seconded a motion to adjourn the January Town of Scott board meeting. Motion passed.
