The Town of Scott, Monroe County, Wis., held its August 2025 board meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 5 p.m., at the Scott Town Hall. All board members present along with town resident Mary Shepherd and town patrolman Larry Johnson.
Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of July Board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. We have received reimbursement on Agricultural Road Improvement Program (ARIP) project expenses for the first two quarters of 2025. Also received the third of four payments for our state highway aids. The town’s checkbook balance as of Aug. 11 is $141,693.01. Supervisor Kade Gnewikow moved and Supervisor Tonya Gnewikow seconded a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
Larry Johnson gave the road report. He did some road patching, mowing and tree removal. Henry Van Wychen will try grading gravel roads with a road rake.
Lepke Construction has moved some equipment in to start the ARIP project on Copper Road. First phase of Copper Road ARIP project needs to be done by Sept. 15, 2025. First phase on Copper Road is to get the road to grade and then install geo fabric and gravel from County Highway EW to Buckley Avenue.
Tonya Gnewikow moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to donate $300 to Warrens Area Fire District for their July 3 fireworks event. Motion passed.
Next town board meeting is set for Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall, 28788 Buckley Avenue, Warrens.
Tonya Gnewikow moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to adjourn the August 2025 board meeting. Motion passed.
