The Town of Scott held its November board meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at 5 PM, at the Scott Town Hall. All board members were present along with Nodji Van Wychen and Larry Johnson.
Town Chairman Henry Van Wychen called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the September 2025 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.
Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All bills on the Agricultural Road Improvement Program project on Copper Road have been paid. Bills have been sent to Wisconsin Department of Transportation for reimbursement. With the November Shared Revenue payment from the state the town has a bank checkbook balance of $62,294.35. The 2026 town budget was reviewed and will be adopted at the town budget meeting. Supervisor Tonya Gnewikow moved and Supervisor Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.
For the town road report, Nodji Van Wychen reported that Monroe County Highway Department has not received the Bridge and Culvert Report from the state. Also,there is a second round of ARIP funding for short span bridges. Larry Johnson indicated the rate for snowplowing town roads this winter will be $105 per hour. Larry will also reinstall the speed limit sign on Crescent Road. Henry Van Wychen reported that trees on the south side of Buckley Avenue from county Highway N to the bridge on Buckley Avenue will be cut down and removed.
Henry Van Wychen moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded a motion to approve a 2026 maintenance contract for assessing the town properties with Gardiner Appraisal Service. Motion passed.
Election workers for the 2026-2027 biennium need to have six hours of election training. There will be election worker training at the Warrens Area Fire Station on Friday, Dec. 5. Election workers for the next biennium will be presented at the December Town Board Meeting.
The next town board meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 5 PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen.
Kade Gnewikow moved and Tonya Gnewikow seconded motion to adjourn the November board meeting. Motion passed.
